Where Were You?

We were busy. Getting breakfast, doing chores, getting school work out to start our day was the focus of the morning. Mr. Fam Jules headed out the door to go to work. Minutes later he burst through the door and quickly turned on the TV. He said the radio announcers were going wild with stories of New York. When the TV flashed it's first picture, a building was in flames. "Where's this?", was my first question. A few more minutes passed with reports and the Family Jules homeschool was canceled for the day. I stood in front of the TV for a long time, feeling like I couldn't sit down. Prayers of "Lord, help those people in the building" kept repeating in my head. The Towers fell and I cried. The Pentagon later. More tears. Flight 23 down in a field an hour later. Devistated and helpless.
The picture I chose this morning is from a photographer who happened to be right under the towers that morning. 3 cameras in hand he began to shoot. His digital took 150 pictures of mostly people. People rushing in. People rushing out. Tower 1 fell so near that he took shelter under a foot bridge. This picture was his last.Bill Biggart's cameras and equipment were found under Tower 2. Another photograper took the card out and prayed that it would load to his computer.
I have stopped trying to imagine the horrors that many had to endure that morning. It's too overwhelming.
A blogger named D.C. Roe has asked for 2, 996 bloggers to pay tribute to a someone who was killed that day on their blogs. Teresa,Bullfrogs and Butterflies has a tribute to a gentleman who lost his life that day.

Where were you that morning?
